We are excited you are considering playing for our RUSC and being a part of the Rogers United Soccer Club family. Our goal as a club is to make sure all kids develop their soccer skills, work as a team and have fun!
Player evaluations are necessary to ensure kids are placed on the right team, so they are challenged and develop appropriately based on their skill levels.
Players will be assessed with a technical warm up and small sided scrimmages by current RUSC coaches and staff. Players will receive a score that will be used for team placement. Upon completion of evaluations, coaches and staff will meet to determine player and team placement.
Following our evaluations our priority is for our coaches to determine what players (new or returning) are best suited for their current team’s overall development. RUSC’s concept is to keep “core players” together from year to year if possible. What are "core players" Simple, 80% of current players that want to return. Players come and go, but the core remains
Our second priority is to create “new” teams. This is based on evaluation participation numbers – if there are enough players in an age group a team will be created. New coaches will be needed as well, so if you have soccer experience, coaching experience or interest in being trained, please consider volunteering to coach.
Following tryouts, an email will be sent to notify you of the results of the evaluation and the competitive team you are eligible for. At that point, each player and their family will make a decision to either accept or decline the team offered by the listed deadline by registering and submitting a $100 non-refundable commitment payment.
If you are set for a far better experience for your son or daughter look no further than RUSC - we are confidant that you will enjoy our fresh approach to youth sports and soccer!
